Too Many Beans,
Too Good to Waste.

Roasted coffee beans spilling from a cup
A home-based pour over story.

The Portmanteau Story

I'm based in Singapore, and my friends travel a lot. When they visit specialty roasters abroad — in Japan, Australia, China, Thailand — they bring back bags of freshly roasted coffee. Beautiful, interesting, lovingly sourced beans.

The problem? They accumulate faster than I can drink them alone. Rather than let good coffee go stale, I started brewing pour overs and sharing them with friends.

Portmanteau Coffee is where travel and home meet: beans from different places, brewed and shared in one small abode. It's not a café. It's not a roastery. It's just me, a kettle, a V60, and a cupboard full of beans, made possible by treasured friends.

How it works

Simple. Personal. Brewed to order.

  1. Beans arrive

A friend returns from their travels with a bag of freshly roasted single-origin coffee.

  2. We brew pour over

Each cup is brewed to order using a hand pour-over method — no espresso, no milk, just hot water and patience.

  3. Takeaway only

Place your order through our link. Collect at our home. We're based in Singapore.
